End of 2011

today was the end of 2011 at enrich. we all had to do a reflection on the year here is my one

The band rotunda.

Today at maths talent development at enrich we started to make our band rotunda model. That is not the real one but a model one, why? because we were going to get our equipment from SIT but their building is getting demolished and we have to wait for next year to get the equipment to build the puppet stage band rotunda. Our models have to fit a 4.1 cm lego mini figure. We increased it to fit the figure by 2cm. It takes a lots of a math brain to figure it out so the unlucky thing for me is I'm not much of a maths whizz!

Bullying

Today at enrich we did a bullying workshop. We talked about who are bullies , why do people bully and what is bullying? Some of the questions we were asked were can younger people bully you ,can adults bully you , can adults bully each other , can people smaller than you bully you . Another thing was do you have a nickname and can people bully you with nicknames.My answers are yes I have 2 nicknames and for the 2nd part of the question yes people can bully you with nicknames but I'm lucky I don't get bullied with nicknames but when I was a year two I was bullied but the next year the bully moved away never to be seen by me again.We also talked about what to do when you are being bullied we wrote these things down, they were stay with a group of friends ,ignore them ,say stop it and walk away and heaps more.

Week 3, Term 4.

Today at Enrich for maths talent development we started to make a band rotunda the size of a coffee table ornament. Then after morning tea we did P4C and the final habits of minds session. In P4C we had to write down these things: nice + relaxed, tense, nervous and get me out of here. These were the responses we could have to different social situations that Katie read out. In the final habits of minds session we were given a habit of mind each and were put into groups of two and we had to write a story or a poem or do a play on our habit of mind. Mine was "Thinking Independently."

Two stars and a wish Term 3.

My term 3 two stars are: that we got to enter our talent development documentries in the MADE awards. My second star is that for our documentries we got to pick what we do. My wish for next term is that the whole Thursday group/class is focussed on one thing which is special workshops at enrich to try and find out more about what we are good at. See you in term 4.

Lyndal interview.

Today at enrich Lyndal Ludlow came in for an interview about the Southland Santa Parade. It was a two minute interview asking Lyndal about the Southland Santa parade. Some of the questions where: Why does the ILT fund the santa parade? What is the money you are given from the ILT used for? It was a great interview and with two weeks to go we are right on track.

Week 6 term3

Today at enrich I did cartooning. My first cartoon was of a crab under water, to do that I had to it by follow the instructions, then I watched the tutorials after that I did my next cartoon of a whale eating a person. I liked my crab better than my whale because I think the tutorials were 1 step ahead of what I was doing and it confused me.

Ann Eustace.

Today Nic, Jordan and I did our first interview for our documentary with Ann Eustace. It was six minutes and 42 seconds altogether so we had to pick three questions that we thought were the most important.

Day 4 of term 3.

Today for documentary making talent development group we had to two guest's coming in to help us with our documentary making. The first guest told us how to speak properly and how to present and the second guest told us about what equipment we will need, and what to do in our documentary and how to use the equipment we will need for the documentary.

Day 3 of term 3

Today at enrich the documentary group in are groups. We did are storyboards for our documentaries.

Day 2 term 3.

Today in documentary making for talent development we where put in to groups so that we can start are documentaries. I am doing one on the ILT and what and how they contribute to Southland. We are going to contact the manager of Stadium Southland to ask him how the ILT contributes to them. We are also going to interview some people to ask them how ILT contributes to their lives.

Day 1 of Term 3

On the first day of term 3 we got to pick which talent development group we wanted to be in. I picked documentries. All the documentaries will be entered into the MADE awards. The MADE awards is a competiton for all primary aged children throughout NZ. There are many categories like documentaries, photos, writing and more!

Term 2 has been a busy term for you. It was great to see you working well with Jacob to create your website for Christchurch children. You worked well together and solved any problems you encountered. It was great to see how proud you were when the website was completed. You are learning to manage your time better, and are excited when new challenges come your way. You are a pleasant classmate, and you interact well with others. Keep up the great work for next term.

Two stars and a wish

My two stars for this term are that I got to work with Jacob for my passion project and my last star is that I got to help kids in Christchurch who have been effected by the earthquakes. My wish is that Christchurch will enjoy the passion projects that Enrich children have done for them.

Website

Jacob and I have almost finished the website aimed at making the children in Christchurch feel that New Zealand really cares about what they are going through and we are here to help them. It will able kids in Christchurch to chat about their feelings and talk to other people in New Zealand, they will be able to send us emails, read comics and watch videos. I am not going to name the website just yet due to copyright. Jacob is a great partner and friend. Above is a picture of Jacob.

Sarah comes back

Today Sarah from term one came back to see us with her very cute baby. I have to admit it is good to see Sarah again. Guess what, when she had her baby she went into the hospital the same day as me - May the 3rd! How cool is that? It is good to see Sarah again and I wish her good luck with her new baby.

Gifted week

This week is gifted week.Today I am going to tell you what being gifted to me means.Being gifted to me is when I am above average ability in some places like computers because at school I do lots of computer like jobs for my teacher, I am better at chess than some people at Enrich and school, I have creativity with my lego at home and task commitment I never give up on a task that have or that I choose to do. Renzulli thinks that you need the things I have talked about to be gifted and above is what it looks like.

Website

I am working on a Christchurch kids chat website with Jacob Miron. Jacob is setting up and programing the website while I am getting things ready for when it is ready like music for them to listen to, things about us and the website. Today I started the (about us) document it will tell them a little about us, medical problems, support, experts, and things about the website itself.

Last day of term 1.

Today is the last day of term 1 and sarah leaves enrich today to have her baby.We will miss here very much enrich will never be the same again.We will miss you sarah!

Chess

Chess is a game when you use your mind and plans to win the game.There are lots of moves the move I like the best is called castle it is when you move your king and rook around but there must be a gap inside them and the can have not have been moved.Here is what a game might look like.

Multiple Intelligence

This past few weeks Sarah has been sending us a multiple intelligence survey where we have to say what we think about different kinds of intelligences.The subjects are nature smart,body smart,word smart,number smart,people smart,myself smart,music smart and picture smart.I have strengths in picture,music and people intelligences. I need to work on myself,nature,body,word and number intelligences.The one I think that I need to work on is myself smart because it is important that I know myself.I enjoy doing the multiple intelligence survey.

Week 7 Game for the Thursday group

Max and I organised the co-operative game for the week. This is a slide show that shows you what we did in the game that we lead. The game was called 'Captains Coming'! Max and I worked on this game together. It was really fun and when I shouted "Starboard!" they all ran to starboard, then I called "Starboard!" again, then some ran but they found out I had tricked them!

We learnt that you can't think that everyone knows what game you're talking about, you need to explain the instructions clearly.
